Criteria for Parents

parent_selection.jpg

Manifesting and running a world-class alternative school is not easy, but we believe clear and transparent communications provide the bedrock for success.

It is extremely important that interested parents be very proactive in communicating with us to complete the three steps to achieve invitation status to apply.

We are not sales people and we do not have time to spend on parents who are not serious about enrollment. We are seeking parents who are actively seeking a new education paradigm, who want, or in fact need, support to hack the best education scenario for their unique learner.

Because parents are an integral and vital part of our program we seek those who are proactive to support our vision and philosophy of education, and who do not need a large size organization, organized team sports, or formal classrooms.

What we seek in Parents:
  • Ability to complete the 3 enrollment steps in a timely manner
  • Ability to engage productively in community building
  • Commitment to supporting student excellence
  • Attends Learning Team Meetings, BLC Events, Education Innovation Lab, etc.
  • Brings student to school according to schedule
  • Volunteers time
  • Supports Baywood's values and individualized education
